My strawberries are really coming along. Squidge and I water them together and talk about how they’re growing and how they’ll soon turn red and juicy. Squidge is a bit of a strawberry-aholic. The girl will eat herself sick if I let her. I find this pretty funny as my mother will also eat herself sick on strawberries so I think she gets this from my Mom.

The other day we found one that was almost ready for picking. Oooh it was exciting thinking we would be nibbling on a strawberry we grew ourselves– nom nom!

Yesterday we went outside to check on our strawberries and we found this. NIBBLED and not by us!! We think the squirrels got to it. I’m a bit bummed out at this turn of events. BAH! I won’t let those Squirrels win *shaking my fist in the air*.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I’m also growing these bad boys and I’m keen on actually eating these. damn you SQUIRRELS!!

This afternoon after a quick internet search I’ll be going to the garden center to find some anti-squirrel devices.

Also THANK YOU so much for the love on my last post. I don’t know if I’m just hormonal but I got a tad bit weepy reading the comments. I’ve stuck to tracking everything I eat and that has been an eye opener. Snack and nibble hoooo boy do did I do that a lot. I’m hoping the key is just being aware what I put in my gob! I’m also trying to eat more protein and cut down on my carbs, not surprising I’m a big carb junkie! I will keep you all posted on how that goes. I’m also off to a local cemetery a bit later to take some photographs for this months Three Corners project.

Squidge’s strawberry addiction.

While I was in the US last week I did a little shopping. Most of the shopping involved getting equipped for our ski trip but I did manage to stop in at Williams-Sonoma. I picked up this little bad boy and I’m excited beyond words!! I’m going to use it to make an apple pie Saturday.

Innit just the purdiest thing you ever did see?? My pure glee in this gadget is a sure sign that I really am getting more and more domestic by the day! I also picked up some silicone cupcake cups– the ones with the silly feet are my favorites.

I’m looking forward to baking w/ Squidge in a couple of months.

Yesterday we went to Cheshire Oaks and they have some fab kitchen shops, including a Le Creuset shop. I didn’t buy anything from there but I’m fairly certain the staff had to mop up after my trail of drool– I could have done some serious damage to <strike>my</strike> Wal’s credit card in there!

I’ve been productive over the past couple of days. I haven’t been sewing (my machine is buried– that’s a story for another post) and my wrist is still bothering me so no crocheting. I’ve been printing and framing some photographs.

I have another 10 photographs to frame and hang. I have an 8x10 of this photo

but I can’t find an 8x10 frame at Ikea. So I’m on the lookout for a black frame I like. What a difference it makes– really warms up the living room. Of course when we start work on the extension in a couple of months they’re coming down.

I also finished my photo swap. I ended up choosing this photo as the main swap photo. I also included two blank cards, one of them is the photo swap photo and another one of the sun peaking through some branches. I hope my swap partner likes the them.

(blank cards)

I also picked up some origami paper. I’ve always wanted to try origami so I was very excited to find these at Hobycraft. I ended up using some of the papers to make a card for my swap partner (I couldn’t just send her some photos and not include a little note). Watch this space for origami!!

Today I took Squidge to Head over Heels again. She had a great time running around but she still isn’t going on any of the ‘up’ places. Like I said before she’s suddenly afraid of heights. She also hurt herself again. I think she is the clumsiest kid I have ever seen. I should have taken video of her falling every couple of steps. All I could do was shake my head and shrug. She threw herself at one of the soft walls that corral the little one and tumbled over the wall. She did this A LOT. She loved doing this. One last time she did this and she fell and must have fallen on her leg because she started to cry. She then kept falling down every time she tried to stand. *sigh* I’m glad she’s going to be referred to see a specialist because this is getting ridiculous. I’ll leave you with some photos of Squidge being weird.

and playing with dadda.

This morning I opened the door to this–

Well it didn’t really look like that when I got it. That’s what it looked like after I, in a slightly crazed and frantic manner, took a pair of scissors to it! The package from my lovely sister FINALLY arrived. Do you see the colorful bag on top? That my loverlies is fruity pebbles. I loves me some fruity pebbles and my sister hooked me up!! You can’t buy Post cereal here in the UK!! I didn’t realize that all the horribly sugary cereals that I like are Post cereals until I moved. Not that I eat lots of sugary cereal but when I do, it’s Post all.the.way! Oh and do you see it there above the cereal on the top right corner of the box? Spam, she sent me spam. Weird, I don’t think I’ve had Spam in <strike>years</strike>at least a decade. Still I might just get a little Hawaiian on yo ass and whip up some tasty Spam dish– photo and recipe to follow! So many things came in this package. A huuuuge coloring book for Squidge and something that had her reaching into the box saying wow. I wasn’t paying attention to her, busy concentrating on the goodies when I suddenly realized she was very excited about something. So I looked closer and realized there was a doll in there. Holy Jeebus was that girl excited. Wow! Wow! Wow! The excitement lasted until I managed to extricate the doll from the packaging– could they make it any harder?? Her favorite thing by far, Crayola crayons. She dragged me over to her table ALL.DAMN.DAY to color.

At least it wasn’t something loud and that requires batteries! So THANK YOU little sister for making a little girl very happy today.

I’m sitting here drinking a cup of hot chocolate w/ mini marshmallows floating on top listening to the rain– mmm mmm good.

Project 365

Spam 365/9

I’m adding a page for my Project 365 photos, just look up there? next to all the other page tabs.
