My favourite product from last years MADs was the Liz Earle. It’s terribly expensive, or so a friend told me, so I use it sparingly. Ya see not only am I stuck in my makeup rut, ( HELLO 1988! ) I’m also kinda cheap. When I say kinda I mean I’m really cheap. I don’t mind spending money on Squidge or Wal or hell even the house but on me? Nope! I’ll just pop down to Sainsbury’s for pair of jeans. I bought some fab dresses at Costco this summer for £12! I look OK and spent very little money. I suppose that’s why I’m stuck in a makeup rut ( HELLO 1988!) I don’t want to buy something and then not like it.
This years new find? Makeup PRIMER! What… the…f*&% is that I asked Sally as we madly filled the bags full of swag lovelyness at 9:30 the morning of the awards ceremony. Sally who wears very little make up and doesn’t do the girlie girl thing even more than me explains to me all about it. Primer for your makeup? You put it on before foundation? Whaaaaa? How have I lived 234353 yrs without ever hearing of it or realising it was something I needed? How do you find out about these things? I suppose I could go to the makeup counter at John Lewis but I don’t trust those women. They’re too made up and they’re trying to sell me their product. Of course they’re going to tell me I need these things but do I really, really need them? Probably not. So I stick with my Max Factor foundation, my Oil of Olay moisturiser and my Revlon lipstick. If I’m completely honest I don’t really wear lipstick. I’m usually slapping on some Burt’s Bees lip balm and rocking the looks like death look.
So there you have it, my recap of the MADs! It was a blast. I loved seeing everyone. Next year I want to win. Makeup primer it’s what all the kids are wearing.
