Weeklies 20/7

The week that was… Squidge and her Scarf Girl. Ya. I don’t know either. I think she gets these ideas from Mr Maker or Art Attack. What I am cer­tain about is that she doesn’t get it from me.

On Mon­day we had our kitchen win­dows and door replaced. To say I am pleased with them would be like say­ing the desert is a lit­tle dry… an under­state­ment. They make such a huge dif­fer­ence in the house.  I’ll do a proper post when we get the front porch door done.

It has been really really cold this week and I took a pic­ture to illus­trate to my friends and fam­ily back in the US. They’re all moan­ing about the heat and I have a hard time feel­ing sorry for them when I am still wear­ing knee high leather boots… in July. In the North­ern Hemisphere.

I found this lone rose bloom­ing in my over­grown flower bed. The pre­vi­ous owner was a keen rose gar­dener. Sadly I’m not so keen or rather I don’t have the time to be a keen gardener.

Squidge and I at one of our favorite places. The cof­fee is fab­u­lous. The atmos­phere is bet­ter. The hot choco­late never fails to put a smile on her face.

I’ve been mak­ing an effort to try new recipes as much as pos­si­ble. This one was amaz­ing!  It was a 3 pro points meal but I added a bit more and made it into a 5 pro points. I’m going to make it again this week. It was that good!

Another recipe I’m going to make. Skinny buf­falo chicken. OH EM GEE it was so good. I mean really out of this world good. The recipe was from Skin­ny­taste and it’s sup­posed to be a 5 pro point recipe. Unfor­tu­nately Wal started the recipe because I was with Squidge at swim­ming so I don’t know for cer­tain. I am going to make the recipe again and will point it to make sure because god damn it was good and if I can eat it guilt free it would be awesome!!

Last day of school is on Wednes­day so I see lots of this in our future. Squidge loves to read in bed and I usu­ally only allow 30 min­utes of it. On the week­ends I let her read her­self to sleep, which is what you see she’s done here on Fri­day night.
