Squidge had a birthday on the 25th and I am a baaad bad mama for not blogging about it. She doesn’t usually go to nursery on Friday’s but considering it was her birthday I had her go in. I knew that they would make a big fuss and a girl needs a to be fussed over on her birthday. On the way in a bought a cake to be shared with everyone. She was beyond excited *see below*
After nursery we met up with some friends and had a nice birthday lunch. I figured Squidge would be full from her nursery lunch and cake and wouldn’t eat much but I was wrong. She ate all her lunch AND had an ice cream sunday!
On Sunday she had her birthday party at Antz in your Pantz. She had a fantastic time and I had a very relaxed time. They know what they’re doing there and it all went off without a hitch!
All in all we had a fantastic birthday weekend. Happy Birthday Boo! Mama loves you much and much and much!

Do you see that photo below? That is Squidge at the Didsbury Festival a couple of weekends ago. I encouraged her to go stand in front of the band and to dance. I would love for my baby girl to express herself, to not have any inhibitions– to just dance when she wants to. She was the only one that did. I was a bit surprised that none of the other children got up to dance– aah well their loss! I stood off to the side and cried– big ugly tears. I’m not really sure why I was crying. Maybe because she’s such a big girl and soo fearless so damn cute and she just made me happy.
The singer asked her to come up and gave her the tambourine to play with and well that just made me cry some more. Silly mama!
We also played some games and cuddled some bears and went on some rides. I’m loving the English summer and soaking up every last minute of it as I know it will be gone too soon.

On Wednesday Squidge went to a farm with her nursery class. The night before Squidge kept coming up to me and telling me she was so ‘cited!! She woke up bright and early and rearing to go. It really was a fun day with loads of animals to pet and plenty of things to keep the kids occupied.
As you can see there was lots of petting. It’s a bit of a nightmare if you have a thumbsucker! I was constantly asking Squidge to take her thumb out of her mouth and to wash her hands. She’s usually pretty good about not sucking her thumb except when she’s in bed but she does tend to stick her fingers in her mouth. I think it’s an age thing!
This is Smiley! He was just an ordinary horse until the farmer started talking to him then he started to grin like a fool. It was too funny– I love Smiley!!
