Yesterday was the UK version of Mother’s Day. I think technically it’s not about mothers but a time when people went back to their “mother” church. I think I read that somewhere many moons ago so don’t go repeating what I just said… it’s probably all wrong. Anyhoo it’s also a time to honor mothers. Being a mother you’d think I’d get a little something special… breakfast in bed… coffee…nope! No coffee in bed with a card and a lie-in for me! We all got up as usual, went to church and then swim lessons for Squidge. After swimming we headed to Chinatown and had a nice walk around and lunch. We also stopped off at Wong Wong Bakery for some yummy custard buns– nom nom nom!! It turned out to be a fantastic day, I love nothing better than walking around this fantastic city especially if it ends w/ Chinese food!
One of these days I’m going to get a good photo of the gates!
She’s getting pretty good with the chopsticks. She actually managed to eat a little bit but then decided it was all too much trouble. Soon after I took this photo she put down the chopsticks and just started eating with her fingers!
This is what I get when I tell him to smile. Still I love that goofy smirk of his– thanks for a great mother’s day.
Hope all of you UK mama’s out there had a good one too!

did you let them know you were disappointed? Glad it turned out great in the end.
Have absolutely NO DOUBTS that she let Wal know she was disappointed. Will it make any difference next year??? I’ve no doubts about that too.……
LOL Biff you know I’m not one to beat around the bush! As for next year… Well I don’t love Wal for his outward displays of affection!
You have family who love you — that’s what counts.
