Happy New Year! I hope everyone survived the holiday season.  We’re taking down our tree tomorrow, so Christmas will officially be over for us– boo!  Father Christmas was very good to Squidge and it was a real treat to experience it with her.  She loves all of her toys and I am happy to report that none of them needed batteries! Although my sister (which reminds me I need to send her some money, DOH!!) did tell me she’s sent me a package WITH batteries included… ah!

We stuck pretty close to home these last couple of weeks.  It’s been snowing a lot here which is unusual so the roads have been pretty bad.  I’ve actually been shocked by the condition of the roads.  I haven’t seen any plows or gritters and pavement/sidewalks are completely impassable! I’ve also noticed that stores don’t sand/salt the lots so it’s freaking dangerous!  I suppose it’s another example of how different things are here in the UK.

We’ve been hard at work on the bathroom and are almost done! Some of you might be snorting in disbelief at this, but really and truly we just need to hang the toilet roll thingamabob and the towel rack and we are done! Oh we’re still waiting for the shower screen we ordered to arrive but really all done as far as I’m concerned! On the the bedroom! I’m ordering the skip(dumpster) tomorrow for the major bedroom clean out and remodel. HELLO new bed!!  Wal has textbooks that are over 20 years old.  I have told him that I will be dumping any text book older that 15 yrs! LOL, you should have seen him go ashen when I said that! Aah my little pack rat thinks I’m joking.… mwahahahaha

Are any of you making/made any new years resolutions?  I don’t think I’m going to.  I’m going to continue to to what I have been doing– raising my child, loving my man, missing my family back in the US.  I’m not doing a weight loss goal as I’m working on that already.  This year I think is going to be a transition year for us here at Casa da Squidge.  My last year as a stay at home mama as my baby will be starting reception(kindergarten) in September.  I’m hoping to enjoy this time as it will all too soon be over.  I’m praying with all my might we finally move out of our cramped little house this year.  Considering I’ve been wishing  and praying with all my might for the past 4 years for this to happen I’m really not holding my breath!
