I would try your firt choice anyway, even though you think it is remote. Our local CoE school receives more than double the amount of applications than they have space, but often it works out. A friend of mine is OUT OF CATCHMENT and was number 20 on the waiting list, and was offered a spot on the first day of school. You just need to be really flexible. Good luck!
