forgetfulness

Posted by on May 27, 2009

Another week another trip– Wal is off to Tunisia this week. I think we are both bone tired off all this travel and are looking forward to it easing up a bit.  This afternoon it was ridiculous the shenanagins we were up to just trying to get him to the airpot.  I dropped him off at work as he had to pick up a few things and make some phone calls.  I ran some errands, picked him up and we headed home to get his suitcase.  We pull into the driveway and he remembers he forgot the posters at the office, the poster were the only reason he needed to go into the office to begin with.  We grab his case and do the usual checklist.  passport– check. wallet– check.  phone– check. briefcase/computer– check. All’s well and we head BACK to the office to pick up the promo posters and then the airport.  He opens the boot/trunk and asks me where I put his suitcase.  I look at him funny and say I never touched it.  We pile back into the car and head back home. Thank god we only live about 10 minutes away.  We realize that he took the case outside but never actually put it in the car.  We groan and hope that it is still there– we’ve been gone about an hour so we’re worried.  The house comes into sight and no suitcase. We rush in the house hoping and praying that we left it in the house.  I check with our next door neighbor and she doesn’t have it so it’s a mad dash inside to gather some things together. Up in the loft for another suitcase and running around trying to find dry socks and boxers.  Give him my travel toothbrush and my razor (w/ the dull blade from shaving my legs) and run out the door again.  Weirdly we had plenty of time and he still got to the airport w/ an hour to spare.

It’s now 1:21am and I am paranoid that the person that took the case is going to think no one is home and try to break into the house.  I’m soo tired but can’t get to sleep– too jumpy!

Onto happier news. My flight is booked, I fly out a week from today and should arrive at Logan around 2pm.

This past Sunday we drove out to the Yorkshire Dales.  It was very pretty and we had a good time.
