Wal just got back from a week long trip to South Africa.  It was a long trip w/ a break on Wednesday due to the SA elections.  This morning I picked him up from the airport and he immediately crashed on the sofa for a couple of hours.  When he woke up he told me he was leaving tomorrow for Turkey then Italy.  GREAT!  In the one hand I’m pleased as punch that he’s busy and keeps bringing home the bacon, I would be an ungrateful person if I were to complain about that.  On the other hand OH MAH GAWD I NEED A BREAK!!  I will  be getting a break from the Boo soon enough and I couldn’t be happier.  I’ve signed her up for nursery 2 days a week starting in mid July.  Yay!  I think that she needs to be around other children w/out me running interference from her.  I think that I will be a better mom if we’re not all up in each others junk all the time.

The weather here has been fantastic and we have been out and about enjoying ourselves.  On Wednesday I went to Bramall Park w/ Byrney (who is ready to POP!!) and had a good time walking around and photographing Noah. I took what I think are my best photographs EVAH!!  I just loved the fact that he was wearing all a nice vibrant blue and the grass was sooo green.  It makes him just pop right out of the photograph!  On Friday I drove all the way to Liverpool to go to a craft fair.  I got sooo freaking lost and almost gave up but I got there in the end.  We had a good time, I would have had a better time if I didn’t have Squidge with me. Have you ever tried to maneuver a pushchair around a crowded room filled w/ crazed blue haired crafters??  No? Let me just say it was interesting.  Then my darling sweet daughter turned into a thief!!!!  While Byrney and I were looking around she was pinching balls of wool/yarn!!! Can you believe it?!?!  She’d taken three balls and sat on them.  She was only found out when I noticed her playing w/ something and looked a bit closer.  So I’m a proud owner of 3 balls of some seriously nice wool which I turned into this…

I was going to have my mom make me some hats for some newborn sessions I have coming up.  While at the craft fair Byrney and I were chatting and we decided it was probably pretty easy to make so I thought I would give it a try.  I’m not finished w/ the hat I still need to make the pompoms/bobbles but I thought I would share the results so far.  I’ve also completed a cute pink one and am working on a beige one.  I think I’ll make all the hats then do the pompoms.

Your pics of Noah are great..but I am very biased lol! And GOD YES I am SO ready to pop.…
Your hat looks brilliant! I thought Squidge had chosen bad wool to pilfer but looks good all turned into a hat…she has good taste! And I thought she was really good at the craft fair…must have been boring for her and she didn’t complain..just found her own entertainment hatching balls of wool!!

Love the hat, I don’t actually think it needs the pompoms on the end.

The hat is great. You could make some adult-sized ones.

Byrney I thought the same thing– it really looks nicer when photographed– weird!
Jeanette– I thought the same thing but since I have sooo much of that wool I’m going to whip up some pompoms to see how it looks.
LOL Sarah do you want them for your Man City games?? I might just whip you up one in the perfect shade of MCFC blue!! Wonder if that would get you on telly?!?!!

I’d have used the buggy like I know those blue haired crafters used their sticks and shopping trolleys!

Which part of South Africa did Wal get to visit. Did he sightsee a bit? I’m glad you have Squidge in a daycare for some days of the week. You need a break to be on your own and do some things alone.

Oh yes please. Dunno about being on tv though. We don’t usually get on these days as we sit in the corner (but not on the naughty chair).
