So Squidge has really come along with her speech. I still don’t think it’s up to par with some of her contemporaries (Jasmine I’m looking at you) BUT, hoo boy is it much better. The only thing she can’t say is L’s. It really is funny. It takes some thinking to figure out what she is repeating when she says yight a couple dozen times. Oooh a light! I’m been trying to work on her L’s. Singing Laaa la la la. Trying to get to place her tongue on the front roof of her mouth. Nothing really works. Laa lalala comes our yaaa ya ya ya and that tongue of hers doesn’t get anywhere near the front roof of her mouth. Anyone have any tips/exercises we can play?? Yes, I’m looking at you Maryann– it’s good to have a speech therapist in the family!!
So how about this financial debacle! I’ve been listening to the news and things just keep going from bad to worse. Have any of you been affected by this? We have pretty much put our housing search on hold. We’re still in the middle of our bathroom remodel. I’m wondering if we should do the kitchen or just leave it as is. Is it worth it to spend the money? I don’t think we’re going to have any luck selling in this climate. I’ve tried a few times to arrange viewings without any luck. I’ve been told that the sellers either want to close within 28 days or are looking for cash buyers. Closing within 28 days in the UK is almost impossible and who the hell has £200K+ just lying around?!?!! So until our house sells I’m done looking at houses on the Internet, it just depresses me.

Ahhh she looks adorable in that hat. Miss E was the same and my brother used to make her say, ‘lick a yellow lollipop.’ Miss M still says lello for yellow so I think Squidge is fine.
Just catching up and that phone call would have driven me mad. I think you handled it just right. And the house situation is a nightmare isn’t it? I’d wait for a while if you can. Our mortgage and bank account is with Halifax so we’ve been a bit worried but I think it will be ok. Gulp.
I love that hat. And, I don’t blame you for not looking at houses anymore — even though it’s a buyer’s market, it is definitely a bad time to buy if you can’t sell your own.
