country living

On Friday I went to Eddisbury farm to do a bit of fruit picking.  The farm was beautiful and I had a really great time.  I think the kids really enjoyed themselves and knew exactly which ones to pick and which to leave behind.

All of them gobbled up the yummy sweetest largest raspberries I have ever seen.  I think they ate more than they kept but isn’t that the point of picking your own fruit with children?

I think my favorite bit was sitting down and watching them eating apples with the trees in the background– carbon footprint 0 (except that we drove 45 minutes to get there so uuum I guess we did have a bit of a carbon footprint but lets just forget that).

Three Corners– Water

Posted on August 31, 2008

This months theme was easy peasy for me as I was surrounded by water!  Although I feel this month that my photos are not really of my corner of the world but is of the corner of the world that made me who I am.  The corner of the world that I know sooo well and yet had moments of feeling disoriented.

As always pop on over to Jenty’s and Corey’s and check out how they interpreted the theme this month.

sssshaawing!

What do you do when your 2 year old insists you watch her swing?  If you try to walk away she calls out mommy! moommy! moooommy!! mooooom!!!! So you forget about washing the dishes.  You grab your camera, sit down and just take photos of a child who is rapidly turning into a ham!

The beach is becoming a sweet distant memory. This is what we’re wearing around here at the moment.

This morning Squidge received a letter from someone we miss very much!  She was very excited when the letter dropped through the door.  It made me cry and after the first sentence I handed the letter over to Wal to finish reading.  I went into the kitchen and had a bit of cry while I did the dishes.

Stalk much?

this is just a photo of one of those thingies– I don’t know what it’s called. I always think of it as Ginger because I vaguely recall the super secret project being called Ginger.

Anyhoo I stalked this poor family waiting for my moment to sneak a photo.

Drowning

under a sea of photographs! I don’t think I am ever going to get through all of them– never ever ever!

Here are just a few of my favorites– check out my flickr photostream to see more.

The boys drank lots of snapperhead- go check out the website it’s kinda funny.

After watching Mike manhandle the lobster Squidge wanted nothing to do with it. She kept calling it a monster and pulled away whenever we offered her a bite. Miss M on the other hand was all over it and declared proudly ‘I like lobster’.

I’m only guessing here but I think Miss H is thinking ’ nooo how no waaaay I’m eating that!’

H and Manny

Miss H and I had a walk around outside and we had an impromptu photoshoot.

We had a fantastic time. I enjoyed puttering around NB waiting for my man to join us. I’m pleased to bits that Squidge loooves her teetee Liliana, she’s still asking for her. It was just good to be home. I’m currently in the midst of post holiday blues. I go through this every time and it usually lasts about a week.
