Three Corners

Posted on April 30, 2008

It’s month two of the Three Corners project. This months theme was Spring/Autumn. Spring for those of us in the Northern Hemesphere and Autumn for the Southern Hemisphere.

I did a little walking around my neighboorhood looking for signs of spring.

then I found these forget-me-not’s in my back garden!

Don’t forget to check out Corey and Jenty’s photographs– they should have them up soon!

Some dogs do!

Squidge’s favorite book is “Some Dogs Do” In the book Sid the dog flies and tries to convince all his dog school mates that he can fly. So he says I DID a lot. Anyone want to guess what Squidge is now saying?

Drinks and mix-ups

I went to the hair salon a few weeks ago. I’m trying to go blond– again. I KNOW I said I wasn’t going to try that again but, alack! alas! I’m a glutton for punishment. Since moving to Manchester I’ve had a long running issue with my hair. I can’t get the color I want and the cuts leave a lot to be desired. So going blond is a long process where they highlight certain bits and eventually I’ll be all blond. In the meantime I look STRANGE.

As for the cut– I asked for a certain cut. I bring photos in to show them the cut I want. I don’t get the cut I want *sigh*. The last time I asked for an asymmetrical cut. I noticed that lately the hairdresser is afraid to give me what I asked for. Like I’m some old lady and I’m obviously a bit dotty and don’t know what I want and I couldn’t possibly understand what an asymmetrical haircut looks like. AAARGH! So she gave me a mild, watered down asymmetrical haircut. Do you have any idea what that looks like? Well it looks like an old lady haircut with one side cut a smidgen shorter. Not cut so much that you’d actually know it’s an asymmetrical haircut but enough so that it looks like someone made a mistake. AAARGH! So all this gets me to a signature haircut. I’m on the hunt for a funky yet classic cut, something short. Something that I can have for a while. Something that doesn’t take a lot of work. I want to take a shower, shake my head and be done with it.

We had a busy weekend. Once a month on the last Friday of the month I get together with a few local mums.

As you can see we consume a little (but only a little) wine and beer.

Then on Saturday I went to a friends house. There was a little mix-up on exactly when we were supposed to be there. I thought it was Saturday, she thought we were coming on Sunday. In the end (because we were already there) we decided on Saturday. We had some yummy homemade pizza. Strangely I didn’t take any photos.

Today we went to order our bathroom– only to find out the shop was closed! So we’ll be there bright and early tomorrow morning! We went for a little walk this afternoon and ended up at our local park. We pretty much had the park to ourselves– Squidge really enjoyed herself.

Thanks for all the thumbsucking advice (and nonadvice). I think it’s going well. I tell her to stop sucking her thumb and she does. It’s gotten to the point where all I have to say it ‘THUMB’ and she pops it out! She’s also begun to play with me. Sometimes I tell her to take her thumb out and she will then she’ll pop it right back in and I swear she says naneer naneer naneer and jiggles her thumb in her mouth!!
