Three Corners

Posted on March 31, 2008

Last month I contacted 2 bloggers that I admire a great deal. I think they’re both smart talented women who share my passion for photography. The idea was for the three of us to post three photographs based on a different theme each month. So for the first month– March the theme was street photography. Here are my three photographs.

What I see when I walk around my neighborhood.

also from one of my walks.

Intersection I must cross on my way to the post office.

Jenty and Corey have posted their photos– go give them a look. We also have a flickr group- you can see some of the photos that didn’t make the cut.

Randomness

On Friday we went to the blood centre to give blood. After giving blood we enjoyed a cup of tea(me) and coffee(Wal) and a biscuit or three (Squidge).

numnum coookie!

mmmmm coffee

Is she washing the dishes or herself? Hmmmm

In the morning we take her out of her cot and bring her into bed with us. She then spends the next half hour trying to get us up.

The troof and nothing but the troof!

When this began to pop up all over the internetz I thought HELL NO! I WON’T GO THERE!! Then I thought who IS this Sweetney person and what was she thinking?!??!! A couple of weeks later and all these women have been spewing truthiness all over the internetz. So because I AM a sheep and before I chicken out or use any more animal references…

Oy Vey! No wonder I don’t get any early in the morning!!

Splish! Splash! Splosh!!

Posted on March 29, 2008

I’ve been on the hunt for some wellies for Squidge. It’s surprisingly difficult to find ones that 1. fit her and 2. don’t have a stupid cartoon character on it. So I picked up some sparkly pink ones (I wanted red) because they fit the above criteria. The weather kindly cooperated so we went puddle hunting.

Splish!
Splash!
Splosh!

As you can see she had a blast and didn’t want to come inside! Once we did get her inside she played with her wellies. I then caught her licking her wellies– eeew! Safe to say she likes them.

Viewing

Posted on March 27, 2008

We went to view the townhouse this morning and surprise surprise we BOTH liked it. It was larger than we expected which I think is why we left there with a warm gooey feeling. Once we got home we started to tear the place up. So with bullet points–

The bad

  • kitchen needs a little work. The fridge/freezer is one of those integrated jobbers. Translation for los americanos they’re split into two units and hidden behind undercounter cabinet doors. I’m not a big fan of those AND we bought a stainless fridge not so long ago. The sink has seen better days and well is just looks a little tired.
  • dining room or lack of. We could squeeze a table in the living room but it’s not ideal.
  • 3rd bedroom is really really small– 6x8 small. I don’t know how people get away with calling them bedrooms. If you can’t fit a bed and a dresser in there IT’S NOT A BEDROOM.
  • It’s off a very busy road.

The good

  • It offers more room than we currently have. It’s technically a 4 bedroom so right there it’s bigger. We plan on using the third bedroom as a den/playroom and the teeny bedroom as an office.
  • It has TWO bathrooms– yippee!!
  • It’s gated!! So no mofo ba$tards blocking my driveway AND less chances of someone kicking in my door in an attempt to steal our car.
  • South facing garden that DOES NOT back up to a very busy (read loud) pub.
  • We know the area well as it’s a 5 minute walk from our current house.

So the only real drawback is the lack of a dining room or even an eat in kitchen. Can I live with a small dining room table squashed into a corner in the living room?? HELL YES! So tomorrow I’m meeting with a mortgage person to see about a let to buy mortgage. Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well.

I’ll leave you with my favorite photo from Sunday
