An interview

Posted by on December 23, 2007

A while back I was reading Laura’s blog and she asked if anyone wanted to be interviewed. I jumped at the chance. I know you’re all just chomping at the bit so…

1 ) I just love the name Squidgyboo, now I’m assuming its not her real name but how did you come with it? She’s had a couple of nicknames in her day. She was peanut while she was in my tummy and for the first few months. Then we started calling her Squidge. Squidge became Squidgyboo because it rhymed when I would sing ‘squidgyboo I love you. Oh yes I do, love my squidyboo’. Yah, I know I’m corny.

2) Being a first time mum what would you say has been your hardest moment so far? In the beginning when I didn’t know what I was doing I really missed having my mom around. I was scared to death.

3) Do you ever wish you were raising your child back in the US, or are you happy with life in the UK? I do sometimes wish I lived closer to my family. I don’t think it’s ever going to happen– mainly because of healthcare (my worry) and education (his worry). I am very happy living in the UK. Except for the odd irritation and the weather. I miss having a proper New England summer.

4) Have you managed to make yourself at home in the UK, Managed to find places and people that you care about? I think that I have made a home for myself here. I have some brilliant friends. I do wish I had a relationship w/ Wal’s parents but I don’t really dwell on that.

5) What would you say is the biggest change in yourself and your partner since having your daughter? We’re a lot less selfish. We don’t sleep until 12 on the weekends. We very rarely get to go out out just the two of us.

Enjoy :)

Now it’s your turn. If you want to be interviewed, leave me a comment
including the words “Interview me.” I will respond by emailing you
five questions. I get to pick the questions. If you don’t have a valid
email address on your blog, please provide one. You will update your
blog with a post containing your answers to the questions. You will
include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the
same post. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask
them five questions.
