Earthquake!!!

Posted on August 30, 2007

We all woke up around 5:45 this morning. I just figured it was because Squidge was crying. I picked her up and left her in bed w/ Wally. I went downstairs to make up her morning bottle of milk, glanced at the microwave 5:48. Once she was back in her cot drinking her milk I started watching the news and aparently there was an earthquake here in Manchester at 5:45!! Now I’m not saying I felt anything and that it was scary because I didn’t and it wasn’t. All I am saying is that it’s weird that we all woke up at the exact time the earthquake happened.

Also wanted to say that I’m missing my friends and family back in MA. I’m sad that Wendy and I don’t hang out and that our girls won’t be the best of friends. I’m hoping that once she’s done with law school we can rent a house on CC during the summer and spend a week drinking, chatting, swimming, eating and having a good time. It might never happen but I have dreams of us doing that. I’m a silly fool.

Red House Farm

Today we went to a maize maze and had a really good time. The weather was very nice and Squidge had a great time w/ C-cutie. We had a nice lunch at the farm– except for the wasps that bugged us when Squidges jammy sandwiches got to the table.

Thanks to B for taking such fab photos! I left my camera at home (stooopid) but thankfully B came to the rescue!!

Formby

Monday was a holiday here and I forced Wally to take us to the sea. He looked at me like I was stoned (apparently all of England heads for the sea during a bank holiday weekend) but off we went in search of a nice beach. We found one in Formby. It had sand dunes and nice sandy beach and we had a blast. It was windy and no way would we go swimming because it is England after all. Squidge had a blast eating sand. And when I say she was eating sand I mean she was eating big fist fulls of sand. YUCK! I kept trying to get her stop but finally gave up. She loves the stuff. I’m waiting for the sand poos.

My favorite photo– she loves the water and looks like she’s the happiest little girl in the world.

I apologize if this post doesn’t make any sense. It’s 2:30am and I’m exhausted! I’m off to bed now.

A weekend in Paris

Posted on August 24, 2007

I’m trying to organize a weekend in Paris. Oh I know you’re thinking how romantic, a weekend in Paris w/ Wally. Eeer nope– A weekend in Paris w/ V and B! A girls weekend in Paris WITHOUT THE KIDS!!! It was mentioned during one of our wine filled LFoMC meets and I’m hoping it wasn’t just the wine talking!!

Next Friday is Last Friday of the Month and after spending 4 solid days (not including today) in the house w/ a cranky spotty 14 month old I’m soooo needing a little vino to settle my nerves.

Her minkie spots are still looking really bad so I’ve had her nappy-less today. After watching her giggle as she wee’d on the floor THREE TIMES I put her nappy back on. I think she’s teething (back molars) because she’s drooling a lot and chewing her fingers. That’s usually a pretty good sign of teething– I know I’m a genius the way I can read this girl. Anyhoo the reason I’m even mentioning it is that I think all that drooling is making her have more spots on her chin and neck. At least that’s my theory. She’s feeling much better today– no fever and general all round grouchiness is gone.

Obsess much?

Yet another photo of Squidge and all her spots.

You’d think the way I was going on about it Squidge has some weird disease– nope just chicken pox!

Thanks for all the well wishes, I’m hoping she’ll be on the mend soon.
