Last Friday of the Month Club (LFoMC)

Last night a few of us Mums got together for some heavy boozing…eer I mean drinks. We’ve decided to meet once a month without babies and hubbies on the last Friday of the month. It was a very good night. V and I shared 2 bottles of wine– sounds better than saying we drank a bottle each!! There was loads of bitching about stuck-up cliquey mummies, lack of sex, work vs SAH and much MUCH more. Before you could say YES I’LL HAVE ANOTHER DRINK it was 11:30 and we were feeling happy. I’m looking forward to the next LFoMC!!

We unfortunately said goodbye to A who is moving to Yeovil w/ her husband and daughter L. She began to attend the Friday baby group a few months ago and we will really miss her. Her daughter L is just old enough to play w/ Squidge without being too rough with her. It makes for a nice relaxing baby group for me. Squidge is a little young to be w/ the toddlers/walkers but too old for the babies/non-creeper/crawlers so L (along w/ B’s daughter C) has been a godsend. I do wish her the very best of luck on her move.

Giving

Posted on April 27, 2007

Wednesday we went to the blood centre to donate blood. This, I’m ashamed to admit, was my first time donating. Squidge was a big hit there! While I was giving blood Wallywoo was supposed to be watching her. Well once the nurses got a hold of her they weren’t giving her back!! So he made out pretty well. The nurses took his child and would occasionally check on him to see if he was alright, did he need more tea? Cookies?? I had filled out the forms, donated about a pint of blood, had my juice and cookies and off we went. I had pretty normal day, I didn’t feel faint and all was well.

I’m trying to teach myself how to knit and it is NOT going well. On Wednesday nights there is a knitting circle at the haberdashery here so I thought I would go and get some tips/help. All was well, the woman was trying to show me how to knit. I suddenly became very hot and a bit dizzy. So I sat down. Next thing I know I’ve broken out in a cold sweat and feel like I’m going to seriously faint. I call Wallywoo to come pick me up and I leave the shop. I was sooo embarrassed. I had never been to a knitting circle and the first time I go I FAINT!! Who the hell faints! I was a bit surprised that giving blood would knock on my ass!! I gave blood at 11 am and I didn’t start to feel faint until 7:30!! I got home and ate something and felt a little better. I kept asking him if he was cold and he wasn’t. Wallywoo said I was ice cold and I was!! I was in bed by 9pm and slept until 8 the next morning. I felt much better.
