Happy New Year!!!

Posted on December 31, 2006

Hiya! Nothing much going on at the moment. Wallywoo is home for the Xmas holidays and won’t be going back to work until Tuesday. We’ve been just loafing around the house eating too much chocolate!! We went into the village yesterday in the rain. It was a nice little walk but I was chilled to the bone. I have some wellies but decided not to wear them. Big mistake I was soaked!! I bought some salmon and I was planning on making it Sunday night for dinner but then I remembered that it’s NEW YEARS EVE!! So we’ll be having it on Monday!! We’re heading over to a friends house for dinner and drinks. Nothing too fancy just a place to hang out and not worry about the kids. I’ll update tomorrow as to how it went. Now I’m off to take a shower and going to Marks and Spencer to return the flannel jammies I bought Wallywoo for Xmas. He didn’t like them!! I’d like to tell everyone that we’re going to return the box of chocolates I bought him but I don’t think they’ll take an empty box!! Start back at the gym next week. YAY!!

Should I make a list of my new years resolutions??
1. Be neater!! I’d like to keep the house clutter free for more than 4 hours!
2. Go to the gym 4 times per week and drop 20lbs.
3. Volunteer.
4. Buy the Big Issue more often (local magazine to help support homeless people in Manchester).
5. Eat more veggies.
6. Read a book. I haven’t read a book other than Harry Potter in years! For those who knew me when you’ll know that’s not like me at all!!
7. Take a class, I feel like my brain has atrophied!!

Well that’s about it. There will be periodic updates on how well/badly my resolutions are going throughout the year!!

Boxing Day

Posted on December 26, 2006

Hiya! Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Boxing Day!!! One of the joys of living in England– an extra day off for xmas!! We went to see Northwich Victoria play– they lost! I spent the second half of the game in the car w/ Squidgyboo because it was too cold and she’s a bit grumpy. She’s finally teething… I think. Christmas was good. I spent hours in the kitchen cooking too much food but it was nice. I got a gym membership ( I asked for it), a digital camera and a Gotan Project CD. I gave Wallywoo an IPod speaker system, a pair of flannel jammies and a box of chocolates. Squidgyboo got a LaLa from the Teletubbies and a Teletubbies CD. She’s too little to appreciate xmas but we noticed that she laughes whenever the Tellytubbies are on.

I took some photos of Squidgyboo w/ the new camera. This one is my favorite.

I’ll post more when I get a memory card. I hope everyone had a very merry xmas. I’m going downstairs to help Wallywoo eat that box of chocolates he received…

Merry Christmas!!

It’s a little past midnight here in England and I’m about to go to bed but wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!! Squidgyboo is sleeping in her Xmas jammies and I’m about to put mine on as well. I’ll post lots of photos of her first Christmas as soon as I can. I think there’s a new digital camera under the tree!! I might be charging the battery for the camera that is under the tree this very moment!! *grin*

Here’s a photo of us, it’s our very first Christmas morning. All I have to say is I’m glad I have a pod of my very own!!

driving test

Posted on December 24, 2006

Yippie!! I passed my theory driving test on the 16th!! I was a little nervous because as usual I left it really late and I didn’t start to study until the night before. I have to call my driving instructor now for my last 2 driving lessons. Hopefully soon I’ll be legally able to drive. I’ll keep everyone posted!!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Posted on December 22, 2006

Hi everyone!! I had a great time in NB!! It was really nice to see everyone and to spend time w/ my Mom and sister. The only thing that sucked was Squidgyboo being soo sick! Everyone kept telling me they thought she was teething but I don’t think she was as she still doesn’t have any teeth and I would have thought she would have one after that bought of fever and crying she went through.

Things here are going well. I went to a Christmas curry night out w/ some of the mums from the 2 baby groups I go to w/ Squidgyboo. I had a really nice time. Wallywoo stayed at home and watched Squidgyboo. We also went to a Carol service at church last Sunday. It was very very nice. The music ws beautifully sung and the church was gorgous w/ all the candles. We had mulled wine and mincemeat pies afterwards. Mincemeat pies, now that’s something I’m having to get used to. It’s not a meat pie but a sweet fruit pie (raisin, sultanas, cherries). I’m still not 100% in love w/ them but I like them better than I did last year. Wallywoo and I also made mulled wine on Saturday. VERY VERY NICE. I can’t wait to make some more this weekend.

I’ve sent out my Christmas cards but they’re all going to be late!! Oh well at least I sent them out this year. Last year I bought the cards, signed them and then just left them on the desk for 2 months. I finally threw then out sometime in mid February!! Anyone that would like xmas cards please just email my your address. I’ve moved soo many times that I can’t find half of the addresses of family and friends.

Wallywoo and I put up our Christmas tree on Monday. We went to the Delemer Forest to pick it out. We wanted to buy a local tree (fresher and lasts longer) and have the money go to the forestry commission. As we were pulling out with our tree in the car we realized we had actually purchased a tree from DD Delemer Forest shop and NOT the Delemer Forestry Commission. It was a bit of a bummer but we THINK it’s still a local tree. We went down the road a bit after we saw a little sign directing people to the forest commissions Xmas trees. So at least next year we’ll know exactly were to go.

Well I’m going to try to blog in a more consistent basis. That’s one of my resolutions for next year. It’ll be easier if I just chat about the little things and not try to remember all the things we’ve done in the past month or so.

Christening Update: Still attending church. We should be meeting w/ the vicar in the next couple of weeks to firm up plans but at the moment it looks like the christening will be either the first Sunday in February (that’s the best case scenarion). If not Feb then definately the first Sunday in March. It’s hard to get a definitive date because they’re all so busy w/ Christmas.
