the one where I’m lost

I think I have well and truly lost my blogging mojo. There is nothing new going on here. The weather is crap. I haven’t taken a photo in over 2 weeks, the longest I’ve ever gone without picking up a camera! I’m not really sure what to do… I suppose I’ll do what I usually do– bullet points!
- We found out for certain that Squidge will not be going to our first choice school. I was totally bummed out about it and truthfully I am still bummed out about it. We think she is probably going to private school. We’ll get the list of schools she got into on 1 April– I’m thinking it’s going to be one hell of an April fool!
- We are all still going to church even though Squidge isn’t getting into the school. We actually really enjoy our little routine. Church, swimming and then lunch.
- Squidge is still taking swimming lessons. She loves it and is the only one in her class this term so she’s getting what amounts to private lessons!
- I am still keeping up with my British Military Fitness. I can’t believe I’m still doing it and loving it.
- Weight loss is slow but that’s a good thing… I think! At the moment I’m only going 2 days a week but need to up that to 4. This week I will have gone 4 times if I go tomorrow. But, then next week Wal is away and I can only do 2 days. Still 2 is better than 0!
- I’m participating in an Exhibition that opens on Thursday. I have all of my photographs mounted and framed. Opening night is Thursday night. I’m hoping to get a babysitter so that Wal and I can attend.

the one where i heart faces– “Texture” Photo Challenge!

I’ve been checking on this blog/contest for a while. It’s called I heart faces. Every week they have a different challenge. For some reason I feel like participating in this weeks competition! This week the challenge is textures and I have a photo with texture added that I just adore. It’s of Squidge (surprise!) and I just love her grown up pose and the texture.
I’m not really sure how the contest works, I think they have judges. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

I don’t know if it’s the weather or just the season but I haven’t been motivated to do anything. We did finally make plans with a friend to check out a new soft play area. It was a fantastic place and we will be going back– especially on a Monday when they have boogie babies dancing included in the price! Have I mentioned Squidge is a dancing queen? Well, she is and was in a disco induced frenzy!

the one where I go and do something stupid

This afternoon I went and did something crazy. I signed up to do a 10k run. Not just any old run, nope I signed up to do the British Military Fitness 10k run. It’s a crazy obstacle course of a run on MoD land somewhere north of Manchester! I’m poopin’ my pants right now but also a teensy bit excited about it. I’ve been thinking for a while that I wanted to do something like this– a goal to keep me motivated. I don’t know if I’m going to be able to do it. I don’t know if it will be too tough. What I do know is that it’s going to be cold, wet, muddy and I’ll feel like a million bucks if I manage to complete it.
The way I see it I have 2 months to get my ass in gear and up my running. I need to start going to BMF 4 days a week. I’m currently going 2 days a week. Well if I’m honest I’m not going at all recently! I haven’t been since the Tuesday before Christmas– scheduling and then this freaky snow/ice/snow/-temp has conspired against me! This Tuesday I’ll be back at it no matter what! LOL, I have to be now that I’ve signed up for this crazy run!
Anyone want to join me? You don’t have to be a BMF member to participate! It will be fun! LOL! I keep trying to get my friends to join BMF but everyone just looks at me like I’m crazy. The thing about BFM is that it really is fun. It’s hard don’t get me wrong but it’s fun. I think I spend equal amounts of time wondering what the hell I’m doing there and laughing because I’m enjoying it! So come on take the plunge! I promise you it’s more fun that a boring old gym!!

Good on you for keeping up the fitness stuff, i have been looking for something similar in my area and there is nothing around (not that i could get to anyways) .
Sorry about the school , can you appeal ? Find it funny she is already going to school , my eldest will start to and we are so nervous about it.
Good for you lady!! grat job on the BMF and is no one going to swimming because it’s cold? can’t wait to hear about your exhibition.ow exciting! sorry again about her school, but she’ll catch up in gettung to the ‘right school’ eventually.Hope you get your other choice.. If this was college it’d be different.
i think this time of year most people feel the way you do. that’s great about the exhibition — good luck! i also this the school thing affects us all. unless you live in some quaint little town and, at least if you’re in the states, you end up paying through the nose in taxes.
